Can’t make it to the rAge Expo 2024? Experience it in this gallery

Once again South African gamers, cosplayers, enthusiasts, makers and artists have somewhere to congregate as the rAge Expo returns for its 2024 edition at Nasrec this weekend. Coinciding with Black Friday and its weekend of savings, rAge 2024 kicked off early this morning and we walked the show floor to see what’s happening this year.

We highly recommend making your way to rAge to see things for yourself but, if you can’t we have you covered. Below you can find dozens of snaps we took at the event to point out some standouts that caught our attention.

From cool things to buy to interesting things to do, there’s a lot going on at rAge as with most years.

Our favourites include the PCBuilder / MSI stand right at the entrance which is packed with the newest tech and savings on prebuilt PCs that knock tens of thousands of Rands off of the sticker price, a giant statue of Deadpool advertising Deadpool & Wolverine on Disney+, a huge amount of merch centred on Pokémon and the great combat robotics SARL stand where you can pay to fight some tiny robots or even buy one to take home and assemble yourself.

As always we recommend taking a stroll down Artist Alley where you can see – and support – local artists and their crafts.

Artist Alley is always special because some artists at the expo will be taking live commissions so you can can get something made right there at the event if you’re so inclined. We’ve had pieces of art made by various talented folk over the years and it’s always a great experience that we wish more people would take advantage of.

If you’re reading this because you couldn’t attend rAge, all the artists also have strong online presences so if you see something cool don’t hesitate to contact them after rAge.

We also have to shout out the LEGO exhibitors showing off their custom builds. You can see more of these customs at another show earlier this year in a separate gallery and, if you want your own LEGO, you can find it super cheap this Black Friday.
