Acer adds eco-friendly projector to Vero range

  • Acer held its Next@Acer event earlier today, debuting new products within its sustainability-focused Vero range, including a new notebook and projector.
  • The Acer Vero PL3510ATV projector features more than 40 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in its chassis.
  • Packaging for all new Vero products also features 100 percent recycled materials.

While sustainability is a buzzword that many a company likes to throw around these days, when it comes to consumer-focused computing, Acer looks to be doing more than most. This as the company revealed new devices within its eco-friendly Vero lineup today during its 2023 Next@Acer press conference.

There is a new notebook in the form of the Aspire Vero 15 (seen in the header image), but we’re a little more intrigued by the eco-friendly projector that Acer unveiled too – the Vero PL3510ATV.

Both products feature more than 40 percent of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in the chassis, along with all packaging being made from recycled materials.

In terms of the projector’s features and functionality, Acer says it is equipped with a FullHD resolution, a 4 800 ANSI lumens laser diode, and a contrast ratio of 50 000:1. The company is also billing it as a jack of trades, for use both in the office or at home.

“Superior laser phosphor illumination technology allows it to present rich, accurate colors while providing eight times less lighting decay and consuming 48% less power as compared to traditional lamp-based projectors… Combined with a 30,000-hour lifespan, these features help save on the total cost of ownership and reduce waste,” highlights Acer in a press release shared with Hypertext.

“The Acer Vero PL3510ATV projector also supports 24/7 continuous projection, providing users with reliable and high-quality performance even for prolonged periods, and is IP5X rated to keep its components protected in any environment,” it adds.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Vero PL3510ATV projector will be available in EMEA in September, starting at €1 399. There are more definitive details on the Aspire Vero 15, which will be available in South Africa in September, starting at R14 999.
