Despite being available on Xbox Game Pass for no additional purchase, several games have managed to come out on top as best sellers on Steam.
These are Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires IV, Back 4 Blood and Football Manager 2022 which occupy six slots in total between them in the top ten seller list.
This list is compiled by third party site Steam Database (SteamDB) which provides a weekly report on the top selling games by revenue generated.
For last week the list is as follows:

- Elden Ring
- New World
- Forza Horizon 5

- Lost Ark Platinum Founder’s Pack
Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Empires IV can appear in the list multiple times as games with different versions are treated as separate titles by Steam.
The Platinum Edition of Forza Horizon 5 – which is also the most expensive way to buy the game – even includes early access to the titles which opened on 5th November, which is why people have been able to play it so early. Those who own the Standard and Platinum Editions of the game will be able to play from tomorrow, 9th November.
Xbox Game Pass is a bit infamous for only offering the base version of the game which is true for the games here. While upgrade bundles for the base game can be bought through the Microsoft Store, this is one of the reasons people still prefer to buy their games instead of basically renting them through the Xbox Game Pass for PC subscriptions.
There’s also the Steam ecosystem which people can make use of but it’s still rather interesting to see more than half of the top sellers here available through Xbox Game Pass. This once again proves the rather insane value on offer from Microsoft.
Elden Ring makes an appearance here with its pre-orders no doubt spurred on by a large gameplay preview released recently.
Both New World and the Valve Index VR Kit are common sights on the top selling list so seeing these again is not too surprising.
What is surprising is Platinum Founder’s Pack for Korean MMO Lost Ark. This game and its various Founder’s Packs don’t even appear in Steam for us when visiting from South Africa. It’s been a while since a top selling game (or in this case a Founder’s Pack) is simply not available on the local version of Steam.
