Power through into next year with Huawei Power-M

It is the sad truth that after a brutal year of loadshedding, 2024 looks to be no different. Higher stages have recently appeared once again, those in Gauteng are recently under wildly changing and sometimes crippling new schedules and the holiday season doesn’t seem exactly cheerful when the lights may not be on.

While loadshedding won’t change in 2024 what you can change, right now, is how you tackle it. Tech giant Huawei is here to give you a hand too with its Power-M series of private energy solutions.

After reinventing the world of phones, mobile computing and even household smart appliances, Huawei is ready to tackle the uniquely local problem of loadshedding after many years in South Africa learning what we really need from device makers.

Huawei Power-M is a combined inverter and battery solution which is made up of modules that owners can expand on should they need more power. South Africans demand flexibility for their Rands and that is exactly what you get here.

Huawei has also reinvented what you expect from power solutions. Long gone are the days of noisy inverters, big and imposing batteries with danger symbols all over them and undue complexity. Instead Huawei has applied the consumer device thinking to Power-M which is why the entire solution is packaged in an attractive outer casing that not only blends in in even modern homes, but also hides all that power.

Take a look at the side profile below with the frosted texture finish and Aluminium alloy enclosure. No that isn’t some new notebook or even a slimline server, it’s the Huawei Power-M side profile is as slim as 16 centimetres.

Combine this with very low noise output, a natural heat dissipation system that is fanless and advanced safety features and this is truly a modern answer to the now old problem of loadshedding.

Hidden beneath this modern exterior is quite a bit of power with a single-unit able to provide between 5kWh and 15kWh. Adding in extra units can move that all the way to the maximum of 45kWh too. When your batteries need to be charged that can be done in just about any way you like with a regular feed from the wall of course supported, but you can also go green by providing that power with solar. Alternatively even a generator can be used to charge up your Power-M device.

This broad support is very welcome given the uncertain nature of the grid where things can even get worse than loadshedding as regular outages can have you down for days instead of hours. You never know what is going to happen with the power in this country, so it’s good to know that Huawei thought of just about everything.

This power is backed up by very welcome features such as seamless switchover that happens in less than 20 milliseconds, so you won’t even know when loadshedding starts. Combine that with the silent operation and you really will forget about the lack of power. There’s also fire protection, IP66 protection, 1.5X overload capability and more.

This is the full package and, to get your own Huawei Power-M package that suits your power needs, start here.
