Stranger Things content leaving Dead by Daylight in November

While game crossovers seem to happen every other day, in November one will end. The Stranger Things content in Dead by Daylight will be made inaccessible come 17th November.

This is a bit more nuanced than, say, Forza Motorsport 7 being completely removed from stores. The player skins and map will be affected separately.

Let’s start with the characters.

“On Nov. 17, 2021, the characters of The Demogorgon, Nancy Wheeler, and Steve Harrington will no longer be available for purchase in Dead by Daylight. Players who have already purchased any of these Stranger Things characters will retain access to them and can continue using them after Nov. 17 when they are no longer for sale,” the announcement reads.

So anyone who gets in now can still enjoy these items in perpetuity, with only newcomers left out in the cold.

What is being removed in its entirety, however, is the map based on the Hawkins National Laboratory. This will no longer be accessible at all, as revealed by the Dead by Daylight Twitter account in a reply.

So to summarise: the characters and cosmetic DLC will no longer be available to purchase but everyone who does so before November gets to keep using it and the Hawkins National Laboratory map will be removed.

While this isn’t as bad as all the Stranger Things content disappearing overnight, it’s still frustrating that licensing continues to make these changes necessary.

To lessen the blow all the Stranger Things paid DLC will be included in a “last chance sale” starting from tomorrow, 18th August.

Full details about the sale can be found here, but it’s a few hundreds words stating that all individual purchases of Stranger Things DLC is 50 percent off, and the Chapter package is 60 percent off.
