We recently reported that games available through Xbox Game Pass for PC made up 60 percent of the best selling titles on Steam, but now Battlefield 2042 has claimed the throne.
This is reported by Steam Database (SteamDB), a third party tracking site which offers information about what is happening on Valve’s storefront.
SteamDB provides a top ten list of the best selling games on the platform for the previous week by revenue generated, and the latest Battlefield has claimed first, fourth and fifth.
One game can appear multiple times in this list as different editions are listed separately. This is also why Forza Horizon 5 appears here in second and third place.
While Game Pass titles didn’t dominate as much, and didn’t claim the number one spot, it doesn’t mean that they fell off altogether.
The aforementioned Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires IV and Football Manager 2022 are all available on Xbox Game Pass for PC. By sheer placements on the top ten list, Game Pass games make up 40 percent.
It should also be noted that The Elder Scrolls V is included in Game Pass, but it’s the base game version of the Special Edition from 2016, and not the latest Skyrim Anniversary edition of the upgrade from 2021.

Both Skyrim and Jurassic World Evolution 2 are newcomers to the list. Both are here likely because they launched in the past week with Skyrim on 11th November and Jurassic World Evolution 2 on 9th November.
While pre-orders for the likes of Elden Ring are usually big sales drivers, game launches also have a propensity for pushing the numbers up.
For Battlefield 2042 it’s an odd mixture of both of these factors as the game launches on 19th November, but it has been playable since 12th November for buyers of the more expensive Gold and Ultimate Editions.
Funnily enough we end where we started on this topic as subscribers to Game Pass can play 10 hours of Battlefield 2042 for free as part of EA Play. The reason it’s not a “Game Pass title” is that players can’t enjoy the entire game, unlike Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires IV, Football Manager 2022, Skyrim Special Edition and more.
