FNB brings new features to nav

This morning FNB detailed a multitude of new features coming to its nav offering within the FNB App.

“In addition to our existing lifestyle offering which includes Telco and Travel on the FNB App, the smart nav» tools demonstrate our commitment to delivering contextual innovations to our Retail and Commercial customers via our trusted digital platform,” FNB chief executive officer, Jacques Celliers, said in a statement.

So what are the new features?

First up is a new peer-to-peer car marketplace. This marketplace was created in collaboration with WesBank. Using the marketplace customers can list their vehicle and get an instant value estimate. What’s more is that sellers will have their vehicle displayed to thousands of pre-selected buyers.

“The expansion of nav» Marketplace to include the Car peer-to-peer marketplace, is our way of looking holistically at the journey of vehicle owners and buyers, and we’ve identified contextual and simplified solutions for our customers,” explained WesBank Motor CEO, Ghana Msibi.

Next nav Marketplace is opening up to more services. This means that tutors, accountants, gig economy workers and more will be able to list their services on the Marketplace. Listing on the market allows business owners to create a profile so they can be found, paid and rated by users. This seems like a great way for small businesses and independent contractors to find new customers and build a reputation.

FNB is also launching a new money management tool but it’s currently only available in beta. The My net worth feature is able to provide customers with a snapshot of their finances that includes home loans, vehicle finance, shares and liabilities.

“Customers can also add assets like art, stokvels, collectables, cryptocurrencies, among others. They get tips to coach them to build a positive net worth, financial resilience, and ultimately attain financial freedom. The feature drives a money management community, allowing customers to share their feedback on the tool on the App and co-create the solution in collaboration with FNB,” says

The tool now also features the ability to make donations to worthy causes through nav Care. Customers can make donations to causes they care about with cash or eBucks.

“During the nav» Care pilot, we have raised R1.5 million in donations and since launching nav» Home services marketplace last year, we helped grow over R1.5 million in revenue for small businesses. We have also helped over 2 million customers with their financial journey with smart money management tools with nav» Money,” said Celliers.

These new features are currently available in the FNB app, if you can’t see them you may need to update your app.
