Halo Infinite gets live action trailer, ‘become Master Chief’ face scan

Everyone seems to be playing the early release of the Halo Infinite multiplayer right now, but Microsoft wants us to remember the singleplayer side of things with two new trailers – one of them live action – and the other a unique face scan site.

Starting with the live action trailer and it’s called “Forever We Fight”. Live action Halo content has always been beloved ever since the “Landfall” trailers directed by South Africa’s own Neill Blomkamp.

Forever We Fight is rather short, but reflective, looking at the past and future of human conflict against each other, nature and now aliens.

It is live action, but at least a quarter of it is CG of Master Chief and some spaceships, but what’s here is nice.

The theme here of “Become Infinite” is fitting as humans sure does love some fighting.

Continuing this trend of continuing to put players into the game is a second trailer called “Carry One”.

This one is not at all live action and, if we’re not mistaken, contains some shots of Master Chief from the Forever We Fight trailer.

This one is also pretty good, but it’s ending is what got us interested promising watchers that they can not only “Become Infinite”, but also become Master Chief.

This is thanks to the subsite xbox.com/Become which will ask visitors to enter their age group and then allow camera access.

You will then need to take a selfie and, well, that’s as far as we got. We’ve tried this around a dozen time using people of different genders, races, with facial hair, without facial hair, glasses, no glasses… nothing seems to work.

We get an error right on the last step here. We have to assume that, based on the header image above, it will take your face and edit into a video of Master Chief’s helmet with a cracked visor.

Either the software doesn’t work or there’s too much load on the server.

If the problem is the latter users should give it a try a few hours from now or even in a day or two. These trailers were just released so there’s the possibility that there’s still heavy load on the process with so many people rushing to us it.

Halo Infinite is scheduled for launch on Xbox consoles as well as PC on 8th December 2021. The unfinished multiplayer is available for free right now on the same platforms.
