Support infrastructure key when implementing education initiatives

Like a myriad of industries over the past 18 months, education has come into focus as a result of the pandemic. The way students learned previously has inexorably changed, as the traditional classroom setup can no longer be fully implemented.

It has therefore fallen on forward thinking educators and institutions to embrace digital solutions and innovative technologies in order to empower learning in the new normal, but ideas can only go so far.

As local technology solutions provider iTMaster can attest, without a supporting infrastructure, even the most well conceived digital platforms can falter.

Having refined its approach to the education landscape in recent years, as well as partnering with the likes of HP and Microsoft, iTMaster has developed a series of technology solutions that can serve as superb support for even the most complex or ambitious of education projects.

It is why the company recently set out the ambitious objective to assist 400 000 learners with access to technology and a digital platform by 27th February 2022, while targeting as many as one million students by 27th February of 2024.

A turnkey approach

In order to ensure that these ambitious education projects not only get off the ground successfully, but continue to deliver the desired environment for learners and educators alike, iTMaster has developed a full turnkey solution for clients.

One such element of the turnkey solution is the rollout of ongoing training to ensure that educators are empowered with the knowledge and abilities to maximise the outcomes of any technology that is provided.

As we know, the rate of change in the tech landscape can be difficult to keep up with, especially when you have multiple classrooms full of eager learners in need of assistance. iTMaster is focused on driving the usage of technology in the classroom and driving professional development is one way of doing that.

iTMaster has deployed computer labs, mobile trolley solutions, as well as long distance learning centres across the country and find that training is a major gap.

This is why iTMaster goes to great lengths to guarantee that any solution placed within a school’s environment is up to date from a software perspective, but crucially equips educators with the necessary knowledge to teach too.

Another example of iTMaster’s support infrastructure is its call centre and service desk, which is always ready and available for educators and administrators to contact in order to resolve any technical or technology-related issues. It therefore means less down time and more opportunities for educators to focus on the needs of their learners.

Further to that, iTMaster is able to dispatch technicians around the country depending on the support required by the institution. They are able to do this by tapping into the eco-system of partners that they have built through their enterprise development program, which seeks to develop smaller ICT companies.

During its infancy ,iTMaster was onboarded on a similar program by HP which helped iTMaster grow into the Education giant it is today. iTMaster would like to continue paying it forward.

Launch initiatives responsibly

Without these kinds of support structures in place, corporate social investment/responsibility (CSI/CSR) initiatives can quickly become neglected, as iTMaster has seen from other solution providers.

Solutions that are not fully deployed and supported, such as computer centres in townships and the rural areas can turn into pain points that serve no purpose to the communities they were originally designed to help benefit.

In these kinds of scenarios, not only has the investment been wasted, it can also have ramifications for the reputation of a business too, which is often difficult to shake or win back.

Given that iTMaster has been involved in various CSI and education projects nationally, it has invested and developed the perfect structures to be able to support these projects with integrity.

The company is as passionate as its clients are when it comes to CSI programmes, striving to install solutions to an expert standard, training educators and learners to love technology, as well as support them without fail via its call centre.

When it comes to education in South Africa, there are few organisations with the expertise of iTMaster in the deployment and support of projects, which is why it should be your first port of call for your next initiative.
