Share your PUBG failures to win prizes

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or “PUBG: Battlegrounds” as it was rebranded after going free to play, has kicked off a contest to win prizes in exchange for your clips of failing in the game.

Now get ready to groan because the name of this event is is the “Epic Fails Contest”.

Name aside participation seems to be rather easy. Simply record a moment of gameplay deemed a failure and share it online (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Weibo) with the hashtags #PUBGEpicFails and #PUBGFAILS to enter.

Some criteria for these entries include the fact that your player nickname must be present in the video and this name can’t be changed for the duration of the event.

So what are players competing for?

  • The weekly best and final winners are selected through regional screening, and we will contact the winners separately.
  • Final winners (22 entries)
    • 20,000 G-Coin
    • Survivor Pass (#16.2)
    • Trophies
  • Weekly best (100 entries per week)
    • Random G-Coin box (contains at least 500 – 50,000 G-Coin)

For a sense of what these prizes are worth we can look at the official pricing of the G-Coin paid currency in the game.

This official support page for PUBG gives a breakdown of the coin bundle pricing and the “cheapest” way to buy 20 000 G-Coin would be to buy two 10 000 G-Coin bundles costing $99.99 each. That makes the final winner prizes, just for G-Coins, worth around $200 (~R3 052) not taking into account localised pricing.

The PUBG Epic Fails Contest is running right now and will close entries on 22nd February. Winners will then be announced on 27th February.

More details about the contest can be found here.

While we don’t have a clip of our own to enter into this contest one that sticks out to us after many years is the embedded on below from content creators Northernlion, DumbDog, michaelalfox and Dan Gheesling.

The four made a lot of great moments like this playing the game in its heyday around 2017 and you can see compilations of them here and here.
