Machine Gun Kelly is set to be a playable charcter in WWE 2K22

Remember when Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) picked a fight with Eminem that ended so badly for MGK that he switched genres? Well having now ruined emo music with his latest track featuring Willow, MGK is set to appear in a video game.

This sounds odd at first but once the details come to light it makes sense.

The musician (and we’re being generous using that word) is the executive producer for the soundtrack for the forthcoming WWE 2K22 game but has reportedly been involved in wrestling for a while now.

“Machine Gun Kelly has been an integral part of the WWE family for more than a decade including performances at WrestleMania and Tribute to the Troops, soundtracking our premium live events with his music, and making frequent storyline appearances on WWE programming over the years,” explains Neil Lawi, senior vice president and general manager for WWE Music Group.

“He has curated a unique soundtrack for WWE 2K22 that includes not only his own music but a diverse array of artists from The Weeknd to KennyHoopla. The 12-track soundtrack is the perfect complement to this edition’s enhanced gameplay,” Lawi adds.

In addition to producing the soundtrack, MGK will feature as a playable character in the WWE 2K22 content pack which is yet to get a release date.

As for the soundtrack, it looks alright although we could easily draw comparison’s to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtrack which is where we first heard MGK’s transition from hip hop to pop-rock.

The tracks picked by MGK for the soundtrack include:

  • Machine Gun Kelly – “Concert for Aliens;”
  • Machine Gun Kelly ft. YUNGBLUD & Bert McCracken – “Body Bag;”
  • Wu Tang Clan – “Protect Ya Neck;”
  • Motorhead – “Iron Fist;”
  • Poppy – “Say Cheese” (Live NXT version);
  • Royal Blood – “Typhoons;”
  • Bring Me The Horizon – “Happy Song;”
  • The Weeknd – “Heartless;”
  • Turnstile – “I Don’t Wanna Be Blind;”
  • Asking Alexandria – “The Final Episode (Let’s Change theChannel);”
  • KennyHoopla – “Hollywood Sucks.”

Hopefully MGK – real name Colson Baker – dabbling with emo is just a phase because emo girl featuring WILLOW is not good, especially compared to the emo music we grew up with.

WWE 2K22 launches on 11th March for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
