There are just a few hours left to grind out levels, weapons and bounties for Destiny 2’s Season of the Lost, the final season in the Beyond Light storyline.
On 22nd February Destiny 2: The Witch Queen will release but ahead of that there is a period of maintenance that will precede the launch. While Bungie has said that maintenance will take place on 21st February, today, thanks to the way time zones work, South African Destiny 2 players will have a few more hours to play the game.
You can see the schedule for the next two days in Destiny 2 below:
- 22nd February 04:45 CAT – Destiny 2 will be brought offline
- 22nd February 05:00 CAT – Update 4.0.0.1 will become available for pre-load on all platforms
- 22nd February 19:00 CAT – Destiny 2 will be brought back online and update 4.0.0.1 will be playable
- 22nd February 20:00 CAT – Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to complete
For players on PlayStation 4, an additional download will be needed in the Destiny 2 Required Content patch. This must be downloaded before you are able to play The Witch Queen.
“These can be downloaded by launching Destiny 2 after the 4.0.0.1 patch is released. After the downloads have started, you can safely close the game and the Required Content downloads will continue in the background during our maintenance downtime,” Bungie explained.
The developer also notes that the PlayStation 4 download of Destiny 2 and all Required Content “will be large” so we recommend downloading this patch before you head out for the day.
We also highly recommend keeping an eye on the Bungie Help forums via its website and updates posted to Twitter.
Bungie community managers have also warned players that there is most likely going to be a queue to get into the game on Tuesday at 19:00 CAT. This is to be expected given that Destiny 2: The Witch Queen has been pre-ordered one million times.
