Yesterday Samsung unveiled its new flagship phones, in the form of the Galaxy S22 series.
We know that the devices in all their different RAM / storage options will be available to purchase locally come 11th March, but for now those interested in buying one need to register their interest to do so.
This as the South African Samsung site has all three phones, as well as the Galaxy Tab S8 tablets listed on its site, but only a pre-registration link is present.
There you can share you name, contact number and email address, along with which device you’re interested in. As for the pre-orders, those only kick off on 1st March 2022, so consider this period the “pre-pre-order” stage.
It is unclear how many devices Samsung Mobile SA plans to bring into the country, but this pre-registration phase will likely allow it, as well as its retail partners, gauge just how much interest there is in the new hardware, along with how much inventory will be required.
As a reminder of recommended pricing, Samsung has advised the following locally, with it specifically pertaining to the 256GB storage models:
Galaxy S22 – R19 999 (RRP).
Galaxy S22+ – R22 999 (RRP).
Galaxy S22 Ultra – R28 999 (RRP).

When you are weighing up different retailers and their pre-order offers, one thing you may also want to consider is the charger, with none included in the box for the Galaxy S22 series. As such, keep an eye out for retailers bundling a 45W charger with the new phones, if you do not have a compatible one.
