Techland rolls out first free DLC for years of Dying Light 2 support

Prior to launch developer and publisher of Dying Light 2, Techland, stated that the game would receive five plus years of support, and that is starting now shortly after launch with free cosmetic DLC.

The “Authority Pack” is made up of three separate parts that were all revealed over the weekend (see the video embed at the bottom of this page), with the first of them just made available.

“Part one – available now

  • Intimidating Jacket—Put on this jacket and fight for justice!
  • Intimidating Cargo Pants—They’ll hold everything you’ll need to enforce the law.
  • Intimidating High-tops — Stand up for what’s right with these unique high-tops.

Part two –  available on 16th February

  • Intimidating Gauntlets—These may not restore law and order in a flash, but they’ll definitely make it easier.
  • Intimidating Windbreaker—Bring down the rule breakers with this windbreaker.
  • Intimidating Leather Guards—Use these leather guards to help you keep the peace.

Part three – available on 18th February

  • The two-handed Authority hammer—With this in your arsenal, they’d better follow the rules.”

Techland also adds that each part of this outfit will grant a four percent resistance to damage from human enemies and, when the full set is equipped, an additional six percent resistance is added on.

While free content is always welcome Dying Light 2 has some serious problems that can’t be fixed with some new clothes.

In the announcement that the first part of the DLC was available, for example, many replies note massive problems with the game such as simply not being able to play, missing parts of the story due to audio / text issues and co-op issues.

Ironically some are even reporting that they can’t access this DLC with it not showing up in the game or the download simply failing.

Techland is already addressing many issues with the game so only time will tell how much is fixed.
