Technical problems with Horizon Forbidden West? Look here

The launch weekend for Horizon Forbidden West has come and gone and, while many are enjoying the new experience, there are some issues. Thankfully developer Guerilla has shared some helpful links for those affected as the problems are worked on.

One of the big issues was code redemption which has now been fixed. According to the official Ask PlayStation Twitter account, this should no longer be an issue.

For other bugs and problems that persist, however, there are two links players should know about: the frequently asked questions page and “Horizon Support” form.

Those experiencing issues should consult the FAQ before using the support form as the latter is a blank contact page that people can fill out with issues they are having. If the FAQ can address this issue then there’s no need to fill out a form and waste the time of the support agents.

The FAQ not only addresses technical problems but also provides some general information about elements such as the differences between the editions of the games, console save imports, trophies and more.

Again on Twitter, when provided with this information, players were quick to point out issues and bugs they are experiencing in the game.

Characters glitching out, black screens, lack of sharpness and more have all been reported by players.

The invalid download codes and a shimmering issue were also brought up by several people, but these have since been addressed. The download codes were addressed above and the shimmering problems have been taken care of according to Guerilla and should disappear by restarting the game twice.

Hopefully all of these little niggles will be ironed out in the near future.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can check out our review to see how this sequel stacks up, and you can even win yourself a free copy of the game in our contest.
