Among Us servers ‘maybe ok now?’ after DDoS attack

Over the weekend popular party / social deduction game Among Us suffered a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that may have locked many players out of enjoying the game.

On Friday the official Twitter account for the game revealed what was going on.

“We have a sabotage going on lol ???? NA and EU servers are getting DDoS’d ???? service will be offline while the team works on fixing it, but might take a bit, hang tight!!!!! sorry!!!” reads a tweet from the account account, and yes it was written like that.

“Someone really had to DDoS us at the end of my work day??? smh???? it’s 5pm i wanted to nap this is so rude.”

On Saturday an update was a provided stating that the servers were still down and that the developers bemoaned working on that day because they were “supposed to go and get a croissant“.

Joking aside an update was meant to be provided on the situation when it was sorted out, but none have happened yet. That being said servers may have been restored as the official name of the Twitter account has been updated to include, “servers maybe ok now?” so it seems some functionality has returned.

As we get deeper into the week we’re sure a proper update will be provided, but for those those who want to play they should just jump in and test the waters. If things aren’t working as intended just wait a while as the situation improves.

The only good thing to come out of this situation has been the funny tweets from the Among Us team and even an illustration – see below – of the servers on fire.
