Elden Ring cracks 100K user reviews

Elden Ring continues to succeed in just about every metric with the latest one to look at being user reviews on Steam.

The game recently crossed the 100 000 threshold on the platform and we managed to check in on it at 103 577 reviews. At the time 77 percent of these reviews were positive leaving the game with a Mostly Positive overall review rating.

While we’re not too surprised by the large amount of reviews, we are surprised by how many of them are positive.

This is because the PC version of Elden Ring is rather poor on the performance front. Digital Foundry, the gold standard when it comes to analysing game performance, points out may problems in its video review below citing a 60 FPS cap, graphical setting ambiguity, general poor performance, extreme stuttering and more.

Right now Digital Foundry is adamant that no hardware configuration on PC can avoid these problems and it’s now up to FromSoftware to fix things.

Returning to user reviews, however, and we can see many of the same problems – along with other issues – pointed out by the outnumbered negative reviews.

Many bring up the stuttering issues and are disheartened that this problem is so prevalent and so detrimental to their experience despite exceeding the game’s recommended hardware specs.

Outside of technical aspects we also saw some reviews which were negative for other reasons. Bad UI, lack of innovation on the part of FromSoftware, control issues and more are all mentioned by these user reviews.

On the other side of things, however, there’s many more reviews praising the game and there’s a reason Elden Ring has so many perfect scores from players and critics alike.

With the game selling so well it’s a shame that the PC port seems to be in shambles. For those on PC it seems it’s best to sit tight for patches and to take heed of the critical reviews out there, even when there’s so much positivity being spread about the game.
