Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, the next game from Rocksteady Studios, has officially been delayed and will no longer be releasing in 2022 as planned.
The studio recently shared a tweet announcing this move with the new release window now pegged for Spring 2023.
For the rest of us outside of America who don’t use the seasons to mark time, the US Spring is between March and June.
As we never got a release date or even a release window for Kill The Justice League in 2022, we’re not entirely sure just how big this delay is. If the game was always intended to launch later this year then the move wouldn’t have been so bad, but that’s mostly irrelevant now.
Interestingly no concrete reason is provided for the delay. In the past few years the COVID-19 pandemic has of course interrupted the production and release of countless games, but it is not singled out as the reason here.

Some may be a bit confused by this news thinking they have read news of a delay already. That’s because Jason Schreier reported on Bloomberg that Kill the Justice League was heading for a delay back on 2nd February.
This story cites insiders familiar with the development of the game and his prediction seems to be spot on.
As Schreier has a reputation for accuracy when it comes to inside information around games it’s rather surprising that an official announcement like this took so long to arrive.
For those who are a bit rusty when it comes to the game, here’s the official description:
“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force and DC Super Heroes who are now laser-focused on destroying the city they once vowed to protect. All the while, the Suicide Squad must be mindful of the lethal explosives implanted in their heads that could go off at the first sign of defiance.”
The last time we saw something significant from this title was a short video from December 2021 featuring the team facing off against a corrupted Flash.
For now the big DC game on the horizon is Gotham Knights which we thought would be out sooner but will release on 25th October 2022.
