TikTok now lets you use GIPHY GIFs and Clips in videos

Ease of creation is one of the aspects of TikTok that makes the platform so popular and now creation just became a whole lot easier.

The platform has announced that creators can now include GIFs and Clips (which contain audio) in their content. These GIFs and Clips can be accessed via a new creation tool TikTok calls Library.

“Library also unlocks a new category of entertainment content, making it easy for people to start or participate in their own trends, using clips from their favorite shows, GIFs, memes and more by seamlessly integrating them into their TikTok videos,” the video platform wrote in an announcement.

You can see an example of how GIPHY Clips can be used in the TikTok embedded below.

According to an announcement from GIPHY, the library of clips will come from a roster of verified artists and partners including HBO, ABC, Hulu, Xbox and The Roku Channel.

“When we were building the Clips library, people were already consuming more audio forward content. They were streaming shows on mobile, and moving quickly to platforms like TikTok where audio is driving creativity,” says vice president of Product at GIPHY, Cam Smith.

The Library is being rolled out to TikTok users over the coming weeks so be sure to look out for it. Android users should be the first to see the feature with iOS users following suit next week.

“We hope to further expand Library to include additional content sources, audio and sounds, text templates, creator content, and more, as we continue to innovate and spark creativity for our community,” said TikTok.

To find the Library open the camera screen and tap the Library icon (the film strip) located on the vertical sidebar. Users are also able to clip Clips to their desired length while editing their video.
