Latest Devolver title Ragnorium leaves Early Access

It is always worth keeping on eye on anything that Devolver Digital publishes and the latest game attached to the company is Ragnorium.

Developed by Vitali Kirpu, the same name behind Pixel Piracy, Ragnorium was in Steam Early Access for around 18 months before launching its 1.0.

Subtitled as a “planet recolonization odyssey”, players are tasked with venturing out into the stars to settle planets.

“Ragnorium is a fantasy colony simulator set in an alternative universe where the privatization of space exploration has led to the commoditization of clone colonists. You are tasked with establishing a self-sustainable colony and helping your faction survive the oncoming Holy Crusade led by Sentient Machine,” the game description reads.

On Steam the game is also listed in the roguelike genre, which could be due to the fact that the aforementioned clones you will be using have different rarity levels. It seems Ragnorium is trying to do a little and balancing multiple genres with RPG mechanics and customisation available on top of this colony sim adventure.

Also on Steam is a 20 percent off discount to coincide with the launch of the 1.0 which will be available until 9th May.

For those who have been continually playing the game through Early Access, or gave it a try at some point in the last year and a half, the full patch notes for the 1.0 release can be found here. As you can guess it’s a long list of updates, improvements and changes to mark this milestone.

This launch version of the game boasts six planet maps and more of just about everything with colonist types, items, resources, characters and bosses all increased in number, according to a press release we received.

For those who want something a little more relaxing, there’s also a dedicated mode for that while veterans have even more difficulty should they want it.

“The introduction of Zenlike Mode gives players a more relaxed onboarding experience, granting them a generous window of tranquillity before Ark Holy Crusade invasions are introduced and the difficulty begins to rise. Hardcore Mode, on the other hand, is a relentless and unforgiving mode for only the pluckiest pioneers,’ the press release continues.
