Pokémon Home version 2.0.0 finally adds support for new games

After many months of waiting Pokémon Home has been updated to version 2.0.0 to support the most recent games.

Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are all now included in home. These three join Sword, Shield, Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Let’s Go, Eevee! and Go.

Along with the update we get a rather simple image (see below) showing that you can deposit and withdraw Pokémon freely across all the titles.

The only warning given here is that there may be changes to the Poké Ball, level and known moves of the Pokémon as there isn’t perfect parity across all of this disparate software.

There’s more caveats too with Legends: Arceus coming with a few due to the fact that it’s so much different from the other games. As Legends: Arceus doesn’t use regular Poké Balls, Pokémon sent to or received from it will instead be placed in “Strange Balls”, a new kind of green Poké Ball that was discovered back in February.

“Until now, the only Pokédex in Pokémon HOME was the National Pokédex. But starting from version 2.0.0, the Pokédex from each game will be added. Pokémon in your Boxes in Pokémon HOME will be registered in their respective game’s Pokédex after version 2.0.0 of Pokémon HOME is installed. Pokémon that aren’t in a Box when the ver. 2.0.0 update is installed, such as those that have been traded away, will not be registered,” the announcement reads.

There’s also some special Pokémon being given away to celebrate version 2.0.0. We’ve summarised these free gifts below but take note of the parts in bold as they are important and you will need to jump between the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions of Pokémon Home.

Deposit a Pokémon from Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl into Home on Switch to receive Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup with Hidden Abilities through Mystery Gift in Home on mobile.

Deposit a Pokémon from Legends: Arceus into Home on Switch to receive Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott with maximum effort levels through Mystery Gift in Home on mobile.
