Temtem crossplay is up in the air right now

Last week we finally got news that the 1.0 of Temtem will be launching on 6th September 2022 after years of Early Access.

Along with this news came many questions about what exactly players at launch will be getting, and to answer some of those questions the official account for the game has released some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to Twitter.

With just four questions answered right now this is promised to be expanded upon in the future, but what we have does address some important topics such as crossplay and cross-progression, with that section of the FAQ as follows –

“Q: Is it going to be cross-play and cross-progression?

A: We think so! We already have cross-play and cross-progression implemented and working on current platforms, we are just waiting for confirmation from the rest of the platform holders.”

Those platforms are Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.

When 1.0 rolls around in September owners of the Early Access version of the game on PC and PS5 will simply be moved to the full release by way of a regular update. On Switch and Xbox, Temtem 1.0 will instead launch as a regular game.

Crossplay and crossprogression are especially important topics as Temtem differentiates itself from other creature capturing and battling games by also being an MMO that is always online.

Live games like this with the freedom to play with friends on any hardware, and swap between your own hardware, are generally favoured so we hope all the systems fall into place in the upcoming months.
