The next Steam Next Fest starts on 13th June

Valve has given customers and developers the notice that another Steam Next Fest is on the way and will kick off in just over a month from now on 13th June.

“Announcing Steam Next Fest, a multi-day celebration of upcoming games. Explore and play hundreds of game demos, watch developer livestreams, and chat with teams about their games in progress, coming soon to Steam,” the short announcement reads.

Next Fest has been a staple so far happening every few months and we’re continually happy to see it every time. Game demos are few and far between in the modern gaming landscape so for a big company like Valve to make them a staple again is great to see.

You do need to play through some lesser quality titles before finding the gems, however, but it’s usually worth your time as all you will really lose is a few minutes of time for the download.

For those who may forget the start date Valve is offering to send you a reminder. Go to the official page for the Next Fest announcement here and click on the “set a reminder” button.

You can choose to receive a push notification from the Steam app or a simple email. It can also be added to your calendar through Apple, Google or Outlook.

As with all sales our advice remains the same: make use of your wishlist beforehand. Adding games you want to your wishlist gives you a one stop shop for browsing through sales.

The Steam wishlist even has an option to sort by discount or price so you can see what’s the cheapest when you visit.

When limited-time deals died many years ago this method of tracking discounts became the best way to shop on Steam sales but does require you put some effort in beforehand to make the best use of it.

With all that in mind a big part of Next Fest is discovering new games that won’t be out for a while, so make sure to add any games you like to the wishlist to make use of sales in the future.
