Unisa students invited to webinar training for exams

The May/June 2022 exam season is kicking off at the University of South Africa (Unisa) and the school is offering training sessions to make sure students are prepared.

The Academic Development Open Virtual Hub (ADOVH) is offering a series of online resources which can either be accessed at any time and worked through, or live training which will be happening throughout May.

All of the resources can be found at this link.

We’re happy to see that there are many live training sessions available including ones which take place at night. This is especially helpful for students who work full time and can’t participate in streams hosted earlier in the day.

The resources here seem to be broken down into 14 segments with an orientation, six lessons, a conclusion, mock exams, webinar recordings, downloadable guides, FAQs, proctoring tools and finally support contact information.

To get a better idea about what’s on offer here’s what’s outlined in the announcement:

  • “How do you navigate an online assessment platform (myExams)?
  • What are the different online assessments you can expect?
  • What is a proctoring app and how will it be used in the examination?
  • What is academic integrity in an online examination?
  • What provisions are made for students with special needs in an online assessment?
  • What are some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and current challenges among students?”
