Diablo Immortal isn’t working on these Samsung smartphones

It has been nearly four years since Blizzard uttered the fateful words “Don’t you guys have phones” following the announcement of the mobile game Diablo Immortal.

Last week, embattled developer Blizzard finally launched the game for smartphones and PC and to say things have not gone well would be an understatement.

The game has come under fire for predatory microtransactions once players reach the end-game. The microtransactions are so bad that players have to cough up real world money for a chance at any sort of progression and that progression isn’t even guaranteed.

But perhaps the biggest oopsie for Blizzard is the fact that anybody wanting to play games on the biggest Android smartphone brand may find it tough.

Samsung Galaxy smartphones running Samsung’s own Exynos silicon are experiencing issues that are so bad Blizzard has had to take action. This action has lead to downloads of Diablo Immortal being disabled for the following Samsung Galaxy devices:

  • Galaxy A12
  • Galaxy A13
  • Galaxy A21s
  • Galaxy A51 5G
  • Galaxy A Quantum
  • Galaxy S10e
  • Galaxy S10
  • Galaxy S10+
  • Galaxy S10 5G
  • Galaxy Note10
  • Galaxy Note10 5G
  • Galaxy Note10+
  • Galaxy Note10+ 5G
  • Galaxy F12
  • Galaxy F62
  • Galaxy M12
  • Galaxy M13
  • Galaxy M62
  • Galaxy XCover 5

While Blizzard has said that it is working to fix these issues, it’s not clear whether users will stick around for those fixes.

As mentioned, after spending real time with the game, players have uncovered what can only be described as one of the most predatory microtransaction models ever seen. It is a bit of shame as well as underneath the greed there is a fun Diablo game here.

Thankfully, you can see this for yourself, Diablo Immortal is available to download for free on Android, iOS and PC but we really can’t recommend it.
