Cuphead DLC sells 1 million, dev gives away consoles

The much anticipated addition to Cuphead – the Delicious Last Course (DLC) – finally launched on 30th June and it has already sold a million copies.

Publisher and developer Studio MDHR Entertainment has announced this milestone not just with a fun little image, but also a contest.

As you can see in the tweet below, the company is giving away one of each of the most modern consoles with entrants required to follow a few steps to be eligible.

Unfortunately there’s no added information for the contest such as an end date or country availability, so it’s a bit of a loose affair.

That being said, if you’re so inclined, it’s worth trying your hand at winning as entry just takes a few clicks.

As for the Delicious Last Course, it has received almost universal praise.

Metacritic, for example, places it in the high 80s for both its Metascore and the user score.

More user scores can be found on places like Steam where the DLC currently has the “Overwhelmingly Positive” review standing, which is the highest honorific available on the platform.

Of the 2 717 reviews a whopping 96 percent of them are positive. This isn’t too surprising given the fact that the base game also has the Overwhelmingly Positive standing with 95 759 reviews which also, coincidentally, are 96 percent positive.

For those unfamiliar with the DLC, it gives players more game to enjoy along with a new playable character.

“Brothers Cuphead and Mugman are joined by the clever, adventurous Ms. Chalice for a rollicking adventure on a previously undiscovered Inkwell Isle! With the aid of new weapons, magical charms, and Ms. Chalice’s unique abilities, players will take on a new cast of fearsome, larger than life bosses to assist the jolly Chef Saltbaker in Cuphead’s final challenging quest!” reads the DLC description.
