Fortnite Android players have their own event this week

Those who play Fortnite on Android have an event all to themselves this week as the Galaxy Cup 3 takes place.

Between 16th and 17th July participants can play to earn the Khari (Galaxy Evolved) Outfit, and Truth’s Quiver Back Bling – which you can see in the header image above – before these cosmetics are added to the Item Shop.

“Top performing players in each region will receive the Khari (Galaxy Evolved) Outfit and Truth’s Quiver Back Bling, while any player who earns at least 8 points will receive the Galaxy Creation Spray. On each day, you’ll have two hours and a total of seven matches to earn as many points as possible. Check the Compete tab in-game to find the exact start time for your region for July 16 and 17,” reads the announcement.

Galaxy Cup 3 is a Zero Build Solo competition which means no building in the matches and no squads either.

One point is awarded for every elimination with a massive range of points given out depending on placement:

  • “Victory Royale [AKA 1st]: 30 points
  • 2nd: 25 points
  • 3rd: 22 points
  • 4th: 20 points
  • 5th: 19 points
  • 6th: 17 points
  • 7th: 16 points
  • 8th: 15 points
  • 9th: 14 points
  • 10th: 13 points
  • 11th – 15th: 11 points
  • 16th – 20th: Nine points
  • 21st – 25th: Seven points
  • 26th – 30th: Five points
  • 31st – 35th: Four points
  • 36th – 40th: Three points
  • 41st – 50th: Two points
  • 51st – 75th: One point.”

Participation in the Galaxy Cup 3 isn’t as easy as downloading the game from the Google Play Store and going at it.

Due to Epic Games’ weird relationship with platform owners you will need to jump through some hoops to get the game on Android. Those with a Samsung can simply download it from the Samsung Galaxy Store while everyone else can start with the Android Fortnite main webpage and go from there. More information about Fortnite on Android can also be found in the FAQ.

Once downloaded, Epic Games Two Factor Authentication (2FA) needs to be set up and more rules for the event itself are outlined here.
