No Man’s Sky Endurance Update turns ships into homes

No Man’s Sky has received yet another huge and free DLC in the form of the Endurance Update which has a focus on making the game’s larger ships more like a home.

This is meant to expand on the Foundation Update which introduced the freighters to the game.

“ENDURANCE brings a complete overhaul of freighters and fleets, allowing players to live and work aboard their home in the stars, together with their own crew. A new bridge brings a range of quality of life improvements, with instant access to warping and teleportation. Players can now build vast freighter bases on a scale not seen before, with specially themed areas and new features for growing food and manufacturing, and new technology like the ability to scan and analyse planets from space,” reads the announcement.

Another focus of the update is asteroids which have been revamped to not only be more varied, but also more numerous. Developer and publisher Hello Games claims that thousands of asteroids can now be on screen at once. Freighters can even be expanded with exterior sections to do with as you like, but it’s recommended that you use this open space to take in the scenery.

Overall it looks like another impressive update from Hello Games, especially as the Endurance Update is supposed to coincide with the 6th anniversary of No Man’s Sky as it was launched on 12th August 2016. It’s also the 20th free major update to the game. Man, where does the time go?

If you’d like to spend some of that limited time on Earth in No Man’s Sky, it’s currently discounted by 50 percent on Steam, the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Store. Those with a Game Pass subscription can also play the game without paying anything extra.
