Destiny 2’s King’s Fall World First Raid race – Everything you need to know

Following the success of the Vault of Glass raid’s introduction into Destiny 2, another legacy raid enters the game today – King’s Fall.

This Raid was the marquee event of the Destiny: Taken King expansion and is widely regarded as one of the best Raid experiences in Destiny’s history.

King’s Fall sees a six-player fireteam descend into the depths of Oryx’s Dreadnaught ship located in the rings of Saturn. It’s unclear how Bungie has adapted the Raid for Destiny 2 where weapons and abilities are far more diverse.

What we do know is that there will be a race to complete the Raid first but as with Vault of Glass, this race will be a bit different.

First and foremost, the Raid opens up at 19:00 SAST this evening. Contest Mode will be enabled for the first 24 hours of the Raid’s availability and players must be at 1560 power to meet the Power cap for all encounters.

Fireteams will need to clear the Raid once to unlock Challenge Mode and the Regicide Triumph. In order to be crowned World’s First, teams must complete the Challenge mode and claim the Regicide Triumph. Should a team not meet a success condition for an encounter, the team will wipe.

The first team to complete this challenge will be crowned the winner and receive the King’s Fall Raid belt pictured above.

Then, if you’re looking for a sweet new ring, you’ll want to complete King’s Fall before 6th September. If you do that you will unlock the King’s Fall Raid Ring for purchase.

The solid sterling silver ring will be available in sizes 6 – 15 and features the visage of Oryx. On the inner band is an inscription which reads Long live the King.

Finishing the Raid at any point during Season of Plunder will unlock a Raid Art Print and Raid Pin for purchase in the Bungie Store.

We are curious to see where Bungie makes changes to the the Raid. We won’t be participating the World’s First race but we will be diving in on Saturday evening once Contest Mode lifts to give Oryx the ol’ one-two with a Gjallarhorn.
