We could see new AirPods Pro alongside iPhone this week

Later this week, 7th September to be more precise, Apple will be holding another product-focused event where the new iPhone 14 series is expected to be the hero device on showcase.

While all eyes would be on those new smartphones, the Cupertino-based company is also rumoured to have some other hardware on show. This could take the form of a pair of wireless earphones with a new generation of AirPods Pro said to be on the way.

The reports on the matter come from a relatively reliable source, as Mark Gurman’s weekly Power On newsletter for Bloomberg has shared the details.

Gurman notes that the new AirPods Pro will feature alongside a more expensive Apple Watch that is designed with extreme sports in mind, with the earphones and smartwatch said to the best performing product lineups within the company’s wearables portfolio.

While we are a little indifferent to the design in the office, we cannot discount the fact that Apple played a big part in the roll out of wireless earphones from most phone makers these days, as well as bringing the 3.5mm headphone jack to an untimely end.

For now it is unclear what price Apple is expected to sell its new AirPods Pro at, nor indeed what improvements or features the wearables will be touting once announced. Hopefully more colour options are on the way, as the white model is iconic, but could do with a splash of colour.

The Apple “Far Out” event is taking place at 19:00 local time on 7th September. We will be on hand tweeting and sharing all announcements on the evening, so be sure to follow us on Twitter to stay in the loop on the new wearables, as well as the iPhone 14.
