Latest Wakanda Forever trailer shows off more Namor

  • The new trailer gives us a better look at Namor, the Submariner.
  • We also get to see the new Black Panther outfit, but no mention of who is in it.
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit cinemas on 11th November.

With a number of big films already under its belt for 2022, our attention for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) now turns to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A teaser trailer for the upcoming film debuted in July, and now Marvel Entertainment has released an official one.

In the trailer itself, which is embedded at the end of this story, much of the focus is on Namor the Submariner, who is a new introduction to the MCU. Namor is played by Tenoch Huerta, with the origins of this Atlantian seemingly leaning heavily into Aztec and South American myth.

It also looks like the Wakandans are fully aware of his existence, as M’Baku is retelling a story about him to a group of children, calling Namor the “feather serpent god”. We also get to see said feathers flapping with Namor capable of flight thanks to the wings attached to his ankles.

As for the other key beats in the trailer, it looks as if the passing of King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) will be a central theme too, along with Queen Ramonda taking up the mantle of power as a war between Wakanda and the Atlantians is on the verge of breaking out.

Other notable scenes from the trailer include a few brief glimpses of the Ironheart armour, as well as the new Black Panther (seen above) at the end, who appears to be played by one of the female characters of the film.

Our money is on T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) to don the new Black Panther suit, but hoefully there are more surprise reveals in store once Wakanda Forever hits cinemas on 11th November.
