This past weekend was San Diego Comic-Con and while the event is yet to get back to its halcyon days before the pandemic, it did not disappoint in terms of announcements. Leading the way was Marvel Studios, which unpacked the next two phases of its Cinematic Universe (MCU).
We also got to see a number of trailers for current projects, like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which has been embedded at the bottom of this story, as well the She-Hulk Disney+ series.
Wakanda Forever, which has teased the arrival of Namor and the lost city of Atlantis, will also see Marvel Studios close out the fourth phase of its MCU.
The fifth phase will kick off on February next year when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania lands in cinemas. This will be followed by other movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3, Blade, Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts.
Series have not been forgotten about either, with a second season of Loki detailed, along with Echo, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again and a few more being confirmed.
With the pandemic having put the brakes on many projects, it looks like Marvel Studios is ready to significantly ramp up the releases in the coming years, both for theatres and the Disney+ platform.
We are also getting three yet to be titled films in the next two phases, with one in Phase 5 and the other two in Phase 6. Perhaps these will be dependant on the success of currently slated projects?
