This week the 2022 Matric class eagerly awaited the release of its final exam results. It has proved a particular tough academic year for the class, with it being exacerbated by the impact of loadshedding, as well as dealing with lockdown and a global pandemic in the previous years.
As such, having achieved a pass rate of 80.01 percent is highly commendable, but for many learners, the really tough part begins, as they will now need to compete for limited spaces at local universities and other tertiary institutions.
This formed part of our discussion for the main portion of this africast, but before that we also touched on some of the other notable news stories of the past week.
This included Trump’s potential return to social media, and in particular Facebook and Twitter. We also touched on Getty suing an AI art platform for illegally using its licensed images, along with looking at the impressively powerful and equally expensive new MacBook Pros.
