PC Game Pass is coming to new countries, including Ukraine

  • Microsoft has announced that 40 countries will soon be able to access PC Game Pass.
  • Despite being at war at the moment, Ukraine is one of those countries.
  • Those in the Insider Program can already play, with a public launch coming later.

Even more people in even more countries will be given access to PC Game Pass as Microsoft announces that 40 new countries will be added to the service for official support.

One notable country from that list is Ukraine which is currently at war with Russia after the latter invaded its borders.

We’d say its quite a unique situation where a country currently engaged in a justified war to protect itself is given access to a gaming a platform, but as always we applaud any company widening the availability of its services.

The full list of countries, as provided by Microsoft, is below:

  • Albania,
  • Algeria,
  • Bahrain,
  • Bolivia,
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina,
  • Bulgaria,
  • Costa Rica,
  • Croatia,
  • Cyprus,
  • Ecuador,
  • Egypt,
  • El Salvador,
  • Estonia,

  • Libya,
  • Liechtenstein,
  • Lithuania,
  • Luxembourg,
  • Malta,
  • Moldova,
  • Montenegro,
  • Morocco,
  • Nicaragua,
  • North Macedonia,
  • Oman,
  • Panama,
  • Paraguay,
  • Peru,
  • Qatar,
  • Romania,
  • Serbia,
  • Slovenia,
  • Tunisia,
  • Ukraine,

The rollout of the additional countries is being handled in a unique way. Those part of the Microsoft Insider Program in these countries can access PC Game Pass right now. This grants access to the PC Game Pass Preview program. Those not part of the Insider Program will, unfortunately, have to wait a while.

A short video – which you can watch below – is also provided that acts as a tutorial for how to get in early and kick the tyres before the public release.

“In the coming months, PC Game Pass will launch in these countries for all players to experience. This means that Game Pass community members from 86 countries around the world can play hundreds of games together with their friends and family,” Microsoft writes.

The biggest release on Game Pass recently was Atomic Heart, a very unique title and anticipated adventure that had gamers waiting to play it for years. It was a day one release on Game Pass and you can read our review here to see if it’s worth your time through this service or as a standalone purchase.

As for the future Microsoft ends the announcement with the promise of some upcoming titles.

“The PC Game Pass library adds new games all the time, and more great games from Xbox and Bethesda are coming to PC Game Pass soon. The upcoming action-strategy game Minecraft Legends will be released on Tuesday, April 18; Redfall, Arkane Austin’s story-driven first-person shooter, hits on May 2; and more great games are coming soon,” the announcement reads.
