What the local pre-order offer for the Galaxy S23 series looks like

  • Last night Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy S23 series of phones.
  • That same night, pre-orders went live locally.
  • To entice local customers, Samsung is bundling a tablet, as well as offering trade-ins.

If you have any interest in flagship Android phones, you are likely fully aware that Samsung unveiled its latest lineup of Galaxy S23 smartphones. Locally, Samsung Mobile South Africa wasted little time in getting pre-orders up, as they went live shortly after the Galaxy Unpacked presentation ended.

With that in mind, here are the details on the pre-order offers Samsung is listing for the Galaxy S23 series.

First; recommended pricing, which is as follows at the time of writing:

  • Galaxy S23 – R20 995,
  • Galaxy S23+ – R23 499,
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra – R30 999.

For each of the pre-order offers, which run from today until 6th March 2023, Samsung is also making trade-ins available. There are a few provisos, such as the condition and age of the device you wish to trade-in, but if it can power on and stay on sans a charging cable, the company will generally offer you something in return. These prices vary but usually max out at R10 000.

Along with the trade-ins, Samsung is bundling pre-orders (until 6th March) with the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite WiFi tablet, and R1000 in Samsung Rewards, which can be redeemed for other products.

The company is also doubling the storage so to speak. This as those who originally wanted to order a smaller onboard storage version of one of the devices, will be able to pre-order a model with double that amount at no extra cost. There is of course a limit depending on the device, with the entire series topping out at 512GB currently.

Added to this is dual SIM functionality across the board, as well as free delivery, which goes a long way these days.

There are varying degrees of Samsung Care+ packages on offer, but these are an added cost, ranging from R499 to R2 999 depending on the length of protection cover.

Lastly, all four colour options are being made available locally for the three different models – Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender.

Once you have pre-ordered and paid for your device, they will begin shipping in South Africa from 13th February onwards.
