How to watch the 2023 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix for free

  • F1 TV is offering subscribers one week of free access so long as they haven’t taken advantage of this offer before.
  • Taking advantage of this offer today gives you access to the full weekend of racing across F1, F2 and F3.
  • Just be sure to cancel your free trial after Sunday’s race lest you wish to be charged R89 per month every month.

This weekend marks the official start of the Formula 1 2023 season with the first race kicking off after a week of testing in Bahrain.

While the race itself only starts on Sunday, the weekend includes three Practice sessions spread across Friday and Saturday as well as qualifying on Saturday evening. The race weekend kicks off in little over four hours and there is a way to watch for free.

In what has become something of a tradition, F1 TV is offering customers one week of free access which should be enough to watch the race and the myriad content over on the platform. Note that, once this trial is up you will be charged the full price (R89 per month) for access.

For those new to F1 TV, the streaming platform offers so much more than just access to the race. The platform features build-up shows, post race analysis and documentaries about the sport.

During the race you can also access multiple audio streams, on-board cameras and access to team radio live and unedited.

For fans of the sport, F1 TV is a great platform and well worth the price of admission. However, during the mid-season break you may want to suspend your subscription, especially if you aren’t watching the additional content.

One thing to make note of is that if you’ve taken advantage of the free trial before, such as in 2022, you may not be eligible for this year’s offer.

For those who want a bit more F1 action ahead of the race, Netflix launched Formula 1: Drive to Survive season five last week and the reception has been good so far with an 83 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This season of the show is notable as it features long-time critic of the show and F1 World Champion, Max Verstappen. As the now two-time World Champion Verstappen had to be a part of this season and while he doesn’t feature heavily, he is there.

In addition to the F1 action, you can also enjoy F2 and F3 practice, qualifying and races all weekend.

Take advantage of this offer and enjoy some racing in the desert this weekend. While it may be the first of the year, Bahrain never disappoints and we’re quite excited to see where the cars place this year, especially when it comes to Mercedes AMG and Red Bull.

This season is set to be the longest yet with a total of 23 races spread out across the year including a total of three races in the US.
