BCX calls for entries in its 2023 Innovation Awards

  • Entries for the 2023 BCX Digital Innovation Awards are open until 31st July.
  • Corporate, SME and public sector companies are invited to enter their solutions to win awards and cash prizes.
  • Previous winners include Discovery Bank, Shoprite Checkers and Ctrl Technologies.

There is no denying that South Africa faces many problems that technology could address. Unfortunately, these tech solutions cost money and without support, many will never see the light of day.

In a bid to help companies that are trying to develop and launch digital innovations, BCX is looking to both recognise and award those businesses.

The digital solutions firm has launched its call for the 2023 BCX Digital Innovation Awards with entries closing on 31st July 2023.

The awards are open to SMEs, corporate and public sector entities with separate awards for each of these categories. This is a major shift from the 2022 awards where public sector firms were lumped in with the corporate firms.

The winners from the 2022 awards included Discovery Bank in the corporate category and Ctrl Technologies in the SME category.

“I am excited to see what innovations our entrants bring to this year’s awards. Each year, my fellow judges and I have been astounded by the ingenuity and creativity of the entries. It is also encouraging that the BCX Digital Innovation Awards has grown in stature and recognition. Reputable businesses such as Old Mutual, Discovery Bank and Shoprite Checkers, have been some of the previous entrants and winners. It is also encouraging that the SME entrants have produced inspiring innovations that are impacting industries in South Africa and in some instances, across the world,” says Mandisa Ntloko-Petersen, chief marketing officer, and the Awards Programme Sponsor at BCX, pictured above.

The awards are explicitly for businesses registered in South Africa with a solution that benefits South Africa. There are some requirements depending on what sort of business yours happens to be. For example, Corporate Enterprises must have a staff contingent of over 1 000 people.

You can find more details about entry requirements as well as the judging scorecard over on the official entry page.

“We are looking for innovations that have achieved remarkable results, that have been built by South Africans for South Africans. We are calling on all Public Sector Entities, Corporate Enterprises and SMEs who are moving the dial on digital innovation to step forward. It is an opportunity for you to showcase your ingenuity that will help us shape and digitally transform our country,” Ntloko-Petersen adds.

Judging for the awards takes place from September to October with the award winners being announced on 16th November.

We’re excited to see what innovations are honoured in this year’s awards.
