Applications now open for Vodacom paid internships

  • Vodacom has opened applications for its 2024 internship programme.
  • The programme will run for 12 months, include a contract and see interns earn a salary.
  • Vodacom is looking for fresh graduates with very little work experience who are “customer obsessed.”

New graduates looking for experience right out of varsity can apply to join the Vodacom internship programme right now.

The South African telecom firm is set to host interns for a 12-month fixed term contract, providing real workplace experience and additional training.

Successful interns can then enter the Vodacom Discover Graduate Programme, or be offered full-time positions at Vodacom following the 12-month period.

According to the telecom, the programme “allows one to gain valuable work experience, explore career paths, networking with professionals in the field, while earning an income.”

Vodacom will begin hosting interns next year, with the start dates set for 1st February and 1st March 2024.

However, applications will close on 31st August 2023.

“The Vodacom Internship programme is a 12-month fixed term contract which provides workplace experience underpinned by a carefully designed training programme. It allows one to gain valuable work experience, explore career paths, networking with professionals in the field while earning an income,” the company says.

Its goals are two-fold, namely to “develop a talent pipeline of skilled individuals for the core business areas within Vodacom” and to “create opportunities for unemployed graduates with the required qualifications to develop competencies in the digital techno environment.”

Requirements to be considered include:

  • “Being a South African citizen by birth or naturalisation,
  • Must have 0-1 year working experience post studies,
  • Must be 26 years old or younger,
  • Must have obtained a minimum of 65% aggregate for completed or most recent academic results,
  • Must have a minimum of a B-degree (B-Com, BSc & B-Tech) qualification (NQF 7),
  • A 3 year National Diploma (NQF 6) will be considered in the following areas only:
  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering,
  • Computer Software Engineering and
  • Information Systems/Information Technology.”

So basically it is looking for fresh post-grads with little work experience to mould through the Vodacom Way.

Additionally, Vodacom is looking for candidates that show strong potential in time management, interpersonal and communication skills. They must be flexible, passionate, innovate and, resilient as well as “customer obsessed” and savvy in all things digital.

If that sounds like you then head here to begin the application process.
