Nokia C32 lands in SA for R2499

  • HMD Global has launched the Nokia C32 in South Africa for a recommended price of R2 499.
  • The entry-level device supports dual-SIM functionality and is available locally through MTN and selected retailers.
  • HMD is also selling the phone with a free jelly protective case and screen protector in the box.

It has been a while since HMD Global launched an affordable Nokia Mobile phone in South Africa, but remedying that today is the Nokia C32, which is now available to purchase locally with a recommended retail price of R2 499.

As far as entry-level Nokia phones are concerned, the C32 continues the tradition of giving as much bang for buck, on paper at least.

The device, which HMD debuted at MWC 23 earlier in the year, features a 6.5″ HD+ display up front, a toughed glass cover on the rear, and a metal chassis. Added to this is an IP52-rated design for protection against the elements.

That body houses an unnamed octa-core processor that clocks in at a modest 1.6Ghz, 4GB RAM (3GB extra virtual RAM), 128GB onboard storage, and a massive 5 000mAh battery. Other notable aspects include a 50MP primary camera on the back, an 8MP selfie option up front, with Android 13 powering the entire experience.

“Nokia C32 reimagines what’s possible in an affordable smartphone. Featuring the most advanced camera in the C-series to date, it’s here to give people high-quality photos at exceptional value. We believe that value should not sacrifice design, so we have included a toughened glass finish usually seen in more premium designs to ensure Nokia C32 looks as good as the pictures it takes,” adds Adam Ferguson, head of Product Marketing at HMD Global, regarding the newly launched phone.

In terms of local availability, you can pick up the Nokia C32 from MTN and other selected retailers, HMD confirms. The company also points out that the device can be purchased with a free jelly protective case and screen protector in the box.
