You can stream the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on Showmax Pro

  • Showmax Pro will be making the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 available to stream on its platform when the tournament kicks off this month on 20th July.
  • The broadcast is being made available to Showmax Pro via SuperSport.
  • Banyana Banyana’s first match is on 23rd July against Sweden.

Later this month, 20th July to be more precise, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will kick off in Australia and New Zealand, with the two nations hosting this year’s tournament.

In keeping with its recent tradition of making major tournaments available to stream on its platform, Showmax Pro is doing the same for the Women’s World Cup.

“Showmax Pro is live streaming coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup hosted in Australia and New Zealand courtesy of SuperSport, starting on 20 July 2023,” the platform noted in a press release sent to Hypertext.

The more expensive version of Showmax saw a surge in subscribers for last year’s men’s World Cup, so the platform is likely hoping for the same to happen this month. Signing up for the service is currently at a discounted rate of R199 per month, which is down from the usual R225 per month that plans start at.

This year’s tournament is significant as South Africa will be taking part, having recently won the Women’s AFCON title. Banyana Banyana’s first match is on 23rd July against Sweden, where our team faces a particularly tough group that includes Italy and Argentina.

“Refiloe Jane will captain South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, Refiloe plies her trade for Sassuolo in Italy. A midfield dynamo formerly associated with AC Milan, she will strive to lead the reigning WAFCON champions into the knockout stages, displaying her leadership skills and technical finesse,” the release added.

As for the other African nations taking part, SA is joined by Morocco, Zambia, and Nigeria.
