HP Anyware is security for the new workforce

While the pandemic is less of a worry now in the second half of 2023, the effects of it are permanent in some aspects of life, including work. Full remote work or hybrid working situations are now the norm where they used to be a rarity, and this change has been a real challenge for the computer security sector for businesses.

In the past, with all the workers under one roof, all using company hardware on the company network, security was easier to maintain. An internal or external IT team could set up the systems and keep a watchful eye on everything at once due to the centrality of the situation.

This is simply no longer the case. Not only do security experts need to keep track of every employee, but also their personal devices and the multitude of operating systems on each one. Across all of this security needs to be maintained without interrupting workflows, and without breaking the bank.

It’s a tall order by HP Anyware – through systems integrator Datacentrix in South Africa – is here to do just that. As the name suggests HP Anyware provides security no matter where your employees are or what devices they are using.

The PCoIP Agent of HP Anyware can be installed on Windows, Linux and MacOS host environments, and for end user devices the support is even greater adding Android, iOS and Chrome OS to Windows, Linux and MacOS.

Without the need for a VPN that can add to costs and bog down networks, HP Anyware creates a secure connection between your sensitive data and employees who need to work on that data. A focus on speed without sacrificing on encryption means that employees from every part of the world can work on even heavy media projects without noticeable delay or wait times.

HP boasts colour accurate and lossless media sharing which isn’t just great for the artists on your team, but also for mission-critical items which require this high level of precision, such as military and government applications.

So how does HP Anyware accomplish all of this? Using the aforementioned host environment, a connection is made to the end user through ARS-256 encryption of PCoIP traffic. The pixels themselves, in this connection, are encrypted, which allows for the great quality of the connection that still remains secure.

While security is of paramount importance, don’t overlook the many other features of HP Anyware. When HP says that this suite supports remote work it means it in more ways than one, as Anyware can be used to remote into systems running the software.

Say, for example, you have an artist working remotely with the only hardware on hand being a notebook with no dedicated graphics card and no way to run intensive editing software. Using HP Anyware, that artist can remotely work on a high end workstation, anywhere in the world, and make use of its improved specs that can run that intensive software.

Now imagine all the other applications, such as an accountant accessing important company financials from home without needing that information to leave the safety of the office. Or think of a government worker who needs to do important work outside of the office, but still needs a secure connection to government hardware that cannot leave a government office. In this last example, we can even see the reduction in workers needed to do the same job, as one person with remote access can do what two people were needed for in the past, along with some other connection like a phone.
