Fitbit currently investigating malfunctioning app

  • Fitbit wearables owners have been complaining about issues experienced while using the company’s mobile app.
  • It’s unclear what is causing the problem, but Fitbit is aware of the issue and says it’s investigating.
  • It appears as if an outage is preventing users from connecting to the Fitbit server.

If you have been having issues with your Fitbit app recently, you’re not the only one, as this week many users of the wearable maker‘s app have been complaining about connectivity issues.

This is something that the company has since acknowledged, but at the time of writing, Fitbit can only confirm that it is investigating the problem. As such, what the precise cause is, as well as a timeframe on when a fix will be implemented, remains to be seen.

“We’re aware that some customers are experiencing issues with the Fitbit app and we are currently investigating. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for your patience,” the company’s Support account shared on X (formerly Twitter) at 2:01 this morning.

In the hours since, no further updates have been shared.

Looking at some of the replies to said X post, it looks like users are struggling to gain connectivity through the app to Fitbit’s servers.

Android Authority, which was one of the first publications to cover the problem, cited DownDetector, with the site noting that the app is experiencing an outage.

It’s unclear how long this outage will last for, with the only solace that Fitbit users can take being the fact that the company is actively working to get things up and running again.
