Miles Morales rocks adidas in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

We always thought that Miles Morales was an Nike guy, particularly wearing the Jordan 1 as his shoe of choice.

Part of that thinking may have been influenced by the collaboration between Jordan brand and Sony Animation on a special ‘Origin Story’ Jordan 1 for Into the Spider-Verse.

With the general consensus being that the Jordan 1 is pretty much goated in sneaker culture, as it turns out, the videogame version of Miles Morales is more a three stripe man.

Yes, that’s right, Miles Morales wears adidas sneakers in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

adidas high-top Superstars by the looks of it.

We spotted his penchant for adidas in two spidey suits for the game, both featured here. The first is the Sportswear Suit, which looks similar to what Morales wore in 2020’s DLC, the key difference being a pair of red high-top sneakers with three black stripes and an adidas logo on the tongue.

You also see a pair of adidas sneakers as part of Miles’ Evolved Suit. The colourway of the sneaker, which looks to be an UltraBoost 4D iteration of some kind, is designed to match the different variants of the Evolved Suit that players can cycle between.

There is certainly nothing wrong with a little product placement, but we’re not sure that adidas is a true reflection of the character’s style. Especially in cut scenes where Morales is not wearing a spidey suit, the character is wearing a facsimile of Jordan 1s in black and blue.

Are these available to purchase in real life?

That said, if adidas has paid good money for their sneakers to feature on a videogame character in a AAA title, that’s their business.

Needless to say, it will be interesting to see whether Nike “claps back” with a custom pair of Jordan 1s for Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is expected to release some time next year.
