• Xbox South Africa is offering discounts on games, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can see up to 70 percent off the latest titles
• Several deluxe editions of AAA games are available at R200 or less, like Watch Dogs Legion and Far Cry New Dawn.

The way Xbox Game Pass works is by offering a monthly subscription service to play any of the Xbox library’s extensive catalogue of games covering all periods of Microsoft’s console gaming history. However, if your subscription should be stopped, you will lose access to the catalogue and be left only with the titles you have purchased yourself on your machine.

Game Pass subscriber or not, players can take advantage of some discounts in the Game Pass Optimized Sale.

You can still buy games even with Game Pass, and every so often Xbox will offer “optimised” sales for those looking to replete their own libraries with games to keep. On Tuesday Xbox South Africa launched such a sale, offering up to 80 percent off digital copies of the latest and greatest titles for Game Pass subscribers.

While Xbox hasn’t said how long this specific sale will last, it is likely to only be around six days according to the Xbox website.

Some of the discounts being offered to Game Pass subscribers are huge. We have collected a few choice examples:

• Watch Dogs Legion – Deluxe Edition – R205.35

• Far Cry New Dawn – Deluxe Edition – R177.30

• Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction – R179.80

• Gotham Knights: Deluxe – R379.75

• Battlefield 2042 Elite Edition Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S – R524.98

• Immortals of Aveum Deluxe Edition – R599.97

• Dead Space Remastered Digital Deluxe Edition – R719.97

• STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor Deluxe Edition – R975.00

Additionally, the Deluxe Edition of Far Cry 6 is on sale for R387.25 for Game Pass subs, as well as the new Need for Space Unbound at R359.98. A host of Monster Hunter titles are also being discounted, so if you want to try out Monster Hunter Rise you can scoop up the Xbox version for R359.50.

Its Sunbreak expansion is also available for R716.23 for the standard edition.

Right now the standard version of Xbox Game Pass for console sits at a competitive R85 per month, offering the before-mentioned catalogue of games, new games on day one, and member deals and discounts like many of the titles above.

To play any of the above-mentioned games online, however, you will need Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is still at a fair price of R129 per month.
