GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas mobile games coming to Netflix next month

  • Netflix has announced that the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be available to subscribers from 14th December.
  • This trilogy includes GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas which subscribers will be able to play on their mobile device.
  • The streaming platform now has over 80 games subscribers can play on their mobile devices without paying an additional fee.

With news of a new Grand Theft Auto (GTA) title on the horizon, Netflix has announced that subscribers will be able to play three of GTA’s older games on mobile next month.

On 14th December, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will become available for subscribers on the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Netflix mobile app.

“Starting today, fans can pre-register to play Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, featuring the genre-defining titles of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, each updated for mobile,” the streaming platform wrote in an announcement.

The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition includes:

  • Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition: Welcome to Liberty City. Where it all began. With a massive and diverse open world, a wild cast of characters from every walk of life, and the freedom to explore at will, Grand Theft Auto III puts the dark, intriguing, and ruthless world of crime at your fingertips.
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition: Welcome to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair and pastel suits comes the story of one man’s rise to the top of the criminal pile. Grand Theft Auto returns with Tommy Vercetti’s tale of betrayal and revenge in a neon-soaked tropical town full of excess and brimming with possibilities.
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition: It’s the early ’90s. After a couple of cops frame him for homicide, Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

Netflix highlights that these three titles add to a growing catalogue of games which now features over 80 mobile titles.

So long as you have a Netflix subscription, you can access these titles without advertising, in-app purchases or extra fees. The games are installed on your device so just make sure you have storage available.

Rockstar Games’ Sam Houser got tongues wagging earlier this month when it was announced that the developer would release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto title in “early December”. Perhaps we’ll see that trailer at The Game Awards 2023 on 7th December.
