5 things you can do with your new RCT laptop

We recently brought you an article about the RCT May laptop going over its features and specs, but today let us instead explore just how you can best use your new piece of kit outside of the usual work and play.

1. Travel

At just 1.39 kilograms the RCT May doesn’t take up too much space in any backpack, tote or luggage. This makes it the perfect partner for trips – both for work and holidays – as well as the daily commute to the office or school campus.

This small size still packs in the lovely 14-inch, fullHD screen, a full size keyboard, a large trackpad and a large battery to keep you going for hours. Speaking off…

2. Get through the longest loadshedding

When loadshedding starts happening for four hours at a time (or even four and a half hours depending on your block), it’s good to know that your laptop’s battery can last that long.

The RCT May has a 5 000mAh battery that will keep going for between four and five hours depending on what you’re doing. While we thankfully haven’t hit loadshedding blocks that long, the RCT May can handle it.

3. Enjoy your content after work

The aforementioned 14-inch screen comes with the gold standard resolution of 1920×1080. Even better is the fact that this screen is an IPS panel. IPS screens offer an experience that more faithful recreates colours and black levels compared to the cheaper options of VA and TN panels which some other manufacturers use.

This means that, if you’re picking up the RCT May for school or work, you still have yourself a great platform to enjoy streaming after hours. Don’t forget that, for productivity, a higher quality screen also makes things smoother as it’s easier to see small text and other minute details.

4. Be dongle free

Many modern laptops have removed ports en masse leaving customers lugging around dongles and adapters just to keep using the peripherals they need.

The RCT May takes the approach of simply giving you all the ports you could ever need on a laptop. You’ll find two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, one Mini HDMI port, an audio jack and even a card reader.

Even much larger laptops at much higher price points fail to offer this many options, but they are standard here.

5. Save money

Technology is expensive, there is no way around it. A luxury product class that has become needed for everyday life is even more expensive here in South Africa due to our weakened currency and high taxes on electronics.

You’ll also save money on dongles and other accessories, as we touched on in point four above.

It’s with this in mind that the RCT May laptop is even more impressive and you can pick yours up from RCTzone right now. Check out RCT’s dedicated store for surprising pricing on the RCT May and many other products.
