- Huawei Mobile South Africa has announced the local launch of its mid-range nova 12 series.
- There are two devices in the lineup – the nova 12i and nova 12 SE.
- One of the standout features on the nova 12i is its massive 108MP camera.
Huawei has this week announced the local availability of its latest smartphones in the popular nova series, with two new devices being launched in South Africa in the form of the nova 12i and nova 12 SE.
While both devices are launching locally, it is the nova 12i in particular that the smartphone maker is highlighting.
The company has specifically highlighted the photography capabilities of the new mid-range phone, which is powered by a massive lens on the rear camera array.
“The latest HUAWEI nova 12i retains the lightweight build of the series and boasts upgraded camera capabilities, adding an exceptional 108MP High-Res Camera. The HUAWEI nova 12i draws from the ethos to inspire confidence and self-expression in users in its design with a spinoff of the iconic galaxy-inspired nova design by adding a dazzling Super Star Orbit Ring as a highlight around its central camera module,” it noted in a release shared with Hypertext.
The 12 SE model boasts the same large primary lens on the back, but also adds an 8MP ultra wide-angle and 2MP macro options to the mix, along with featuring a 32MP selfie lens up front.
Other similarities between the two models are the same Qualcomm processor, RAM, and onboard storage options. The 12i does have a larger battery though at 5 000mAh, but the 12 SE’s is not small at 4 500mAh.
Both devices are available to purchase via Huawei’s local ecommerce platform, with the company noting that you can, “get the HUAWEI nova 12i from the HUAWEI online store for R6999 and operator channels across South Africa for R329 a month over 36 months or R399 a month over 24 months. You can also purchase the HUAWEI nova 12 SE from the HUAWEI online store for R8499 or from HUAWEI partners and operators for R439 per month over 36 months or R549 monthly over 24 months.”
