SPEEDRUN – In-demand local jobs

Unemployment remains one of the biggest issues plaguing South Africa, with some corners calling for more opportunities to be made available, while others say skills development is a top priority. Regardless of where you sit on the subject, jobs are a must for those leaving tertiary institutions and trying to enter the workforce.

It is with this in mind that the Department of Higher Education and Training outlined as many as 350 jobs in its National List of Occupations report.

With the type of jobs being quite varied in skill, industry, and scope, it is clear that there are plenty of professions locally that need the correctly qualified people to fill them.

As for the other stories we’re featuring in this morning’s SPEEDRUN roundup, we’ve highlighted some confusing new wireless earphones from Huawei, edutainment-focused weekly bundles from MTN, finger pointing from the founder of Telegram on censorship, and a “dumb” flip phone from Heineken.
