First Jackass Forever trailer is like seeing old friends

We are more than half way through 2021, but there’s still a lot of exciting movies on the horizon such as Dune, The Suicide Squad, The Matrix 4 and multiple Marvel movies, but what we may be most excited about is Jackass Forever.

The latest, and likely last, movie in the franchise finally has a trailer and it’s both surreal and fantastic to see most of the crew again.

The trailer even acknowledges this movie being something of a reunion, starting off some black and white filter footage from the past movies and a slow, sappy song.

Ending on a high note of the trailer is long-suffering cast member Ehren McGhehey being seemingly fed to a bear but what made us laugh the hardest is the Looney Tunes “riding a bicycle into a wall” bit. It may be because we didn’t realise it was a wall when initially watching the trailer, or because we recently saw Space Jam: A New Legacy which used the trope many times but didn’t illicit a laugh once.

On top of the stunts there’s also some great lines in this trailer, our favourite being from Steve-O: “concussions aren’t great, but as long as you have them before you’re 50 it’s cool, and [Johnny] Knoxville is 49… so we’re good”.

The cast here isn’t just the returning crew as there’s many additions, but they are still familiar faces. Celebrities such as Machine Gun Kelly and Eric Andre are shown off in the trailer with others like Tony Hawk and Tory Belleci (of Mythbusters fame) also confirmed to be appearing.

Jackass Forever is planned for a theatrical release run starting on 22nd October. With the COVID-19 situation in South Africa, and many parts of the world, still not under control, we’re not sure how the release will be affected.

Just recently South Africans missed out on the launch of Black Widow because of tighter lockdown regulations, and the fact that Disney+ is still not available here.

Regardless of when we’ll be able to see this one, we can’t wait.
