You probably interact with WordPress every day of your life.
The open source website management tool is used by big sites such as Quartz, Variety, TechCrunch and even humble little South African sites such as htxt.africa.
And now there’s a local event you can attend focusing entirely on WordPress in the form of WordCamp. The non-profit conference is taking place over two days this November in Joburg and is a great place for programmers, designers, bloggers and almost anyone interested in creating or consuming content on the internet… which is just about everyone.
Aside from mingeling and getting some important business cards the organisers, members of the Gauteng WordPress community, are also looking for sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and colunteers. If that sounds good to you go and apply over on the official site.
We’ve also been told that on the Sunday, November 19th, there will be a community outreach event which will show people how to make a site in about an hour. There will probably more great stuff taking place over the weekend, so keep your eyes on the schedule for future updates.
